It’s October and that means fall is in full swing! Pumpkin spice lattes, trading in summer clothes for fall sweaters and boots--though living in California we pretty much keep our sandals and summer dresses out all year and throw on a jacket when the weather dips 70 degrees (today it hit over 100 in San Diego!)--and of course, pumpkin patches! Last year John and I visited the Rancho Bernardo Pumpkin Station Pumpkin Patch. There are countless pumpkin patches in San Diego but what I love about Pumpkin Station is that they are fairly big and have additional attractions. This year we decided to check out Pumpkin Station’s Del Mar location.
The day we went it was 90 degrees but we went during golden hour for optimal photography lighting.
The attraction include 2 giant slides, train jump, play center, antique carousel, swing ride, El Paso train ride, sky fighter, car ride, tubs of fun, game zone, petting zoo and pumpkin patch. Most of the rides are designed for little kids, sadly we couldn’t ride them. But it was still fun walking around and feeling like we were at a little fair.
Definitely take a picture with the giant pumpkins. Can you believe they are real?
Photography Tips:
What's great about photographing a pumpkin patch at Golden Hour are: perfect lighting and warm tones. Fall photography vibes off the warmer temperatures and with a backdrop of oranges and yellows--from the hay and pumpkins.
White is always nice and fall is associated with deeper colors like maroon, olive, or brown but try accenting with blues and purples to pop.
