Questions
1. Have you ever traveled anywhere you were disappointed by? Why? I don't think I've ever been completely disappointed with a place because each destination is unique and provides insight to a different culture. I guess when I went to Phuket, Thailand I was disappointed by the beaches and islands because that's their main attraction. I had just traveled to the Philippines and visited Coron, Palwan (by far the most beautiful place I've ever been). But I wouldn't say Phuket was a disappointment because there food was delicious! I had pad thai every day and wasn't tired of it at all! I would go back just for the pad thai at this one hole in the wall restaurant. (I'm Facebook friends with the owner)
2. If you could only visit one more country, where would it be? I would go back to the Philippines. I have family there, can understand the language and there are so many more islands I want to visit. It's an island paradise.
3. Do you prefer to travel by plane, train or bus? A like the quick travel time of a plane but a train ride is more comfortable and you can look outside and see the beautiful countryside.
4. Which city do you think has the best fashion? Paris, France. They aren't a fashion capital for nothing.
5. Hotels v hostels: which team are you on? I've only stayed at a hostel for a night once so I can't really say I know much about the hostel experience. I'd have to go with team hotel. But if Airbnb was an option I'd pick it over a hotel :P
6. If you were to write a book about travel, what would you call it? Chasing Adventure Near and Far. It's the tagline of my website :)
7. Are there any downsides to traveling? Coming back to reality.
8. You’ve got a free one-way ticket to anywhere in the world: where would you pick? The Philippines. (see questions 2)
9. Any nightmare stories you can share whilst travelling? I was traveling from Venice to Florence and got on the wrong train! During the train ride the person checking the tickets said I was on the wrong train and that the train I had boarded was the business class train, not the economy train. (No wonder the train was nice and empty). She said I had to get off the train and my train was the next one. I was frantic and confused. Basically I had gotten on the right track from Venice but was on the train that left 10 minutes earlier. I got off the wrong train, looked around to make sure I was on the right platform, boarded the train and then found out my seats didn't exist! The rows only went to 38 but I was supposed to be on 40, a couple and I faced the same problem and the train was packed. We walked through the entire train until we got into the last cart that was a lot emptier, sat down and talked about how we couldn't believe we were sold tickets that didn't exist. That's what happens when you travel the economy train.
10. What are your blogging dreams for 2017? I'd like my blog to continue to grow and inspire others to try, do and eat new things. It would be awesome to collaborate with brands, local restaurants and a tourism board.
11. Where are you heading to next? Right now, I'm going on a cruise to Mexico in November but who knows I'm always planning trips.
