Alfred's Tea Room is a trendy establishment in Melrose (West Hollywood) that serves premium teas and is the first non-coffee venue from the Alfred team (Best known for the Alfred's Coffee shops).
» Food & Drink «
After being greeted, you can peruse the "Fancy Pink Tea List" which offers about 30 different teas--categorized into: black, green, white, oolong and herbal. They serve teas ($4-$5). matcha ($4-$7), on tap beverages (key iced tea $4.50, kombucha $4.50, nitro chai $5, cold brew $5) and boba milk teas (classic $5, chai $6, matcha $6.50, rose $6, earl grey $6, thai tea $6 ). Upgrade a tea from regular to large for an extra $0.50.
*I ordered a Rosy Black (blend of Chinese black and rose pedals) with two pumps of honey. It was perfect for a cold night, not too sweet and it has a strong alluring fragrace. My friends tried the Rosy White, which is very similar but a white tea is used instead. I would recommend both!
» Aesthetics & Vibes «
The little shop is adorned with glass teapots and platters, brass taps behind the counter, ceiling-to-floor pink tiles and vases of fresh pink peonies on a gold painted high bench, table. The thoughtful design creates an aesthetic that is picture perfect. When you first walk in, it's as if you are in a pretty pink boutique or bridal shop, the stores smells as good as it looks as you are enveloped in the various tea scents. It makes the list for being Instagram worthy.
» Service «
The workers were very helpful and answered any questions we had.
» Parking «
The only available parking is on the street. I went pretty late at night so I didn't have any problem finding parking but I wouldn't be surprise if it's hard to park during the day when all the other stores around are open.
OVERALL
If you like tea it's definitely worth the visit, though it is on the pricier end. I wouldn't come here frequently because I don't think it's entirely worth it but I do enjoy the fact that they have unique teas. It's a once in a while, take a picture of the store kind of place. The aesthetic are on point so don't forget to snap a picture or 10.
