Part 1 of 2: John's birthday presents, but really dragging him to concerts I want to go to, creating a fun experience for the both of us. I'll choose an experience over a material good any day and that's how I feel when giving. At the end of August, I saw that there were tickets for Jai Wolf at the Santa Ana Observatory on November 25 aka Black Friday. My friend, Kathy, had seen Jai Wolf two times prior to this concert and raved about how good his sets were. I had stumbled upon his music a few months ago and I thought why not check him out, tickets were only $30.

John, my cousins, some friends and I arrived at the Santa Ana Observatory. Though the doors opened 7pm, we arrived earlier because some friends had bought VIP tickets to this show which included a meet and greet with Sajeeb (aka Jai Wolf). My cousins, John and I were able to pick up our tickets at will call and were pretty close the front. Of course, got to take pictures.

Snaps for Ramzoid and Jerry Folk for doing a great job opening for Jai.
Jai Wolf's setup looked like he borrowed the navigation board from some sci-fi space movie and made a deal with the moon to be his backdrop. The circular screen illuminated the stage, changing colors and scenes, matching with the moving stage lights and the rolling beats and drops. He remixed songs by Odesza, Kiira and even Chance the Rapper, which the crowd went ballistic for. The set featured his own songs from his Kindred Spirits EP such as This Space in My Heart is for You, Drive (ft. Chain Gang of 1974) and Gravity (ft. DMR). As his encore, Jai Wolf played his most popular song "Indian Summer," It's one of those songs that hypnotizes you with it's beats and makes you feel you can go out and adventure. The end of the song fades with light beats making it the perfect way to end a spaceship riding night.
Overall I was really impressed at his set, it was more upbeat than I expected. His setup was unique and worked well with how his new EP looks and vibes. You can really see the passion in his music and how he has worked to created his own sound, which is important in the ever growing world of EDM music. Keep up the tracks!

Thanks Sajeeb!
