Tuesday:

I get a text from John saying he got Thursday and Friday off. Let's go somewhere! Baffled, I look up flights but everything was expensive. Looking at what's driving distance we first thought of Santa Barbara, nice and relaxing. But there wouldn't be much to see except beaches and we live in San Diego already. So we decide for Vegas instead! There would definitely be something for us to do and we would be able to getaway. Don't foget about BUFFETS! It was a BAEgas getaway.

Thursday:

5 Hours of driving through the desert, we experienced the usual traffic in the middle of nowhere and surprisingly rain. It's pretty amazing being able to see desert rain in the far off distance. No buildings to block the view of miles of open nature. We arrived at our hotel, The Linq, in the afternoon and headed to the strip to find some food. We decided on Mon Ami Gabi, a nice French restaurant at Paris. The place was beautifully decorated but it had dim lighting, making it a bit difficult for us to read our menu. I fell in love with their Smoked Goat Cheese appetizer, (goat cheese, marinara sauce and herb bread). I am definitely going back just for that. I am drooling thinking about how delicious it was. That night we met up with my Tita Chevy at Encore Beach Club for a night out. RL Grime was playing that night and John and I got to be front center. We ended the night walking back to our hotel watching drunkies, like a bride to be on the shoulders of a guy almost toppling over.

Friday:

We bought tickets for Cirque Du Soleil's Zarkana first thing in the morning from a Tix4tonight booth. Time to hit the buffet! Ceasar's Palace's BACCHANAL Buffet! Food, food everywhere. Their selection circles the globe, from Asian to Italian, from Mexican to American. My favorite was the big crab claws. I got the desserts, of course. I usually judge a buffet by their dessert and this buffet is on my list of favorites. They had this mango mousse and another mousse I didn't know what it was but it was so good I got two of each. With food coma following the end of the meal, we walked around Caesar's Palace's forum shops. We decided to go back to the hotel to chill and ended up watching Angels & Demons on the tv. It was nice to just relax for a bit, after all we were on vacation. In the afternoon, we walked down the strip and made our way to the Coca Cola factory to try there 16 cokes from around the world. Some were familiar like Inca Cola. Some were yummy like Sprite Ice. Some were just not good like Sunfill Mint. On the tray there was a fun fact questionnaire that we decided to read will sipping on each glass. We got Earl of Sandwich for dinner before going back to the room to get some rest before our show. (The heat is draining or I'm just getting old...) CIRQUE DU SOLEIL ZARKANA was AMAZING! All the acts were inspiring and enjoyable. They even had a pair of clowns running the show that were very entertaining. I definitely want to see more Cirque du Soleil shows and would highly recommend this one.

Saturday:

We packed our bags and headed for the Vegas sign for a quick tourist picture. Before leaving Sin City we stopped for breakfast at Studio B buffet in The M hotel. Unfortunately, we found out that on Saturdays they only have a lunch seafood buffet that was pretty expensive. We settled for their food court since we were too far from the strip to try to go to another buffet. Maybe next time. Can't go to Vegas without stopping by an outlet. On our way home we went to the Fashion Outlets and I was able to get a new pair of Nike Frees and John got a new outfit from Gap.

Overall a fun, relaxing, enjoyable trip. It was a first time traveling together and hope to have many more adventures and vacations. :)
